Another dysfunctional family story from David O Russell, this time revolving around an ex-teacher with mental health issues and the beautiful young widow who steers him back to sanity. Bradley Cooper showed there was more to him than Hangovers as the loveable hero, though Jennifer Lawrence was the true stand-out here.
