University of Cape Town - Part 2
Jameson Hall (above) and the surrounding Jammie Plaza serve as the focal point for events on Upper Campus, which is the main center of learning at the university. Activities including ballroom dancing and other recreational pursuits take place in the hall, which also serves as a venue for examinations.
The university relocated to the Groote Schuur Estate campus in 1928, where Upper campus is situated today. The Middle and Lower campuses are stationed below Upper Campus and house the Law faculty, the South African College of Music, the School of Economics, most of the student residences, and an extensive range of sporting facilities. These include an artificial grass football pitch that has been approved by FIFA for use by international teams when training in Cape Town.
